Entry-Level Aerospace 6DOF Simulation Engineer I
As a Entry-Level Aerospace 6DOF Simulation Engineer I your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
Under the supervision of senior personnel, develop six degrees of freedom (6DOF) models to test and evaluate flight software for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures (TC) program. Simulations are developed for a variety of vehicles and modeled end-to-end with both flight‑software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) and processor‑in‑the‑loop (PIL) configurations.
Assists in the research, design, development, and testing of structures, propulsion units, and guidance and control subsystems for aircraft, missiles, or spacecraft. Assists in the routine analysis of aerospace product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
Evaluates new technologies of routine complexity for application in improving design of aerospace systems, plans, coordinates, directs, and evaluates testing of aerospace systems that are routine in nature, performs standard risk assessment of aerospace systems and generates risk mitigation plans and strategies.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience. ENTRY LEVEL position.
Job Requirements
US Citizenship.
Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience. ENTRY LEVEL position.
Proficiency with MATLAB, C++, Python, FORTRAN, and/or other programming language(s) required.
Experience and/or coursework in modeling flight dynamics, propulsion, aerodynamics, actuator systems, and/or GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) all a plus.
The majority of the job will be programming engineering/physics models into high fidelity simulations.
Early tasks are geared towards learning 6DOF basics, evaluating requirements compliance, writing scripts for data conversion/plotting, and minor 6DOF model/data updates.
As you gain more experience, tasks will become more research‑based. i.e., developing high‑fidelity models based on researching textbooks, technical publications, and/or vendor documentation.
Position requires that candidate meets requirements to obtain a final security clearance to access classified information.
Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position. Active clearance preferred.

Currently enrolled/working towards a Master's Degree.
Demonstrates ability to put theory into practice and verify predictions against test data.
Strong background in one or more computer programming languages.
Able to demonstrate a willingness to work in a technical role and continue to expand technical knowledge.
Experience in engineering, or related weapon systems development, integration, or test and evaluation field is desired but not required.
