Overview
I am currently representing a client in Pennsylvania seeking an experienced EMC/EMI Engineer or Engineering Manager to join their team. This is a fully onsite role supporting the design, testing, and certification of electronic products, with an opportunity to take on technical leadership or team management responsibilities depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute EMC/EMI design and compliance efforts across the full product lifecycle
Develop and carry out test plans aligned with regulatory standards (FCC, CE, CISPR, MIL-STD, etc.)
Diagnose and resolve EMI/EMC issues through root cause analysis and practical design improvements
Work closely with hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure robust designs
Coordinate internal and external EMC testing, including certified labs
Provide guidance on PCB layout, grounding, shielding, and filtering techniques
Ensure all products meet regulatory and compliance requirements for target markets
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
5+ years of experience in EMC/EMI engineering
Strong working knowledge of relevant EMC standards (FCC, CISPR, IEC, MIL-STD)
Hands-on experience with EMC test equipment and lab environments
Proven experience supporting products through compliance and certification
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior leadership or team management experience
Background in industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, or medical devices
Experience with EMC simulation tools or advanced analysis techniques
