The Role
The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining inspection programs for coordinating measuring machines (CMM), with a strong emphasis on Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software. This role ensures that manufactured parts meet engineering specifications and quality standards through precise measurement and data analysis. The position works closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to support high-precision manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and maintain CMM programs using Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software.
Perform both online and offline programming within MCOSMOS.
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.
Generate and analyze inspection reports directly from MCOSMOS outputs.
Troubleshoot CMM programs, measurement errors, and equipment issues.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve dimensional discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar.
Maintain calibration records and verify CMM system accuracy.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection efficiency and accuracy.
Train operators and technicians on MCOSMOS operation and best practices.

Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, etc.).
Knowledge of SPC and quality data analysis.
Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods while performing hands‑on testing, inspection, and lab activities.
Willingness to work occasional overtime or adjusted hours as business needs require.
Comfortable using precision measurement tools, inspection equipment, and computer‑based quality systems.
