We are currently seeking a Network Design Engineer (WIFI) to join our team in Yonkers, New York (US-NY), United States (US).
Core Responsibilities
Design & Architecture: Define the technical roadmap, create high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) designs, and select technologies and vendors that ensure scalability and high performance for client review and sign off.
Define the technical roadmap and be the subject matter expert for ClearPass (or other applications like this) and interface with other applications to ensure seamless integration.
Participate in meetings to discuss and design new and/or upgrade projects, including gathering requirement, materials and timelines for work to be completed.
Site Surveys & Modelling: Utilize predictive modelling and conduct physical site surveys to optimize RF coverage, capacity, and antenna placement.
Organize a bill of materials for new and replacements projects and break‑fix situations and submit them to the customer for approval.
Operational Support (Tier‑3/4): Serve as the escalation point for complex wireless performance issues, diagnosing root causes of outages, interference, or latency.
Assist Client in Vendor contract support by providing feedback and suggesting changes and improvements.
Security & Compliance: Implement and manage security protocols (WPA3, 802.1x, NAC), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Review and obtain customer approval for equipment controller and AP firmware and software updates and execute approved updates.
Automation & Optimization: Develop scripts for API integration with network management tools to automate AP provisioning, optimization, and monitoring.
Performance Monitoring: Utilize tools, spectrum analyzers, and packet sniffers to analyze traffic and maintain 24/7 reliability.
Generate reports as required.
Qualifications
3+ Years of experience in WIFI design and Engineering
2–3 years of experience in Vendor support management
