KIPP Memphis Public Schools is part of KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program), a national network of tuition‑free, open‑enrollment, public schools that are successful in helping students from educationally underserved communities develop the knowledge, skills, character, and habits needed to succeed in college and the competitive world beyond. There are currently 280 KIPP schools across the nation serving nearly 120,000 students. Founded in 2002, KIPP Memphis serves over 1,000 K‑12 students in our three schools and almost 900 alumni on their journeys to‑and‑through college with our KIPP Forward Program.

Job Description
KIPP Memphis has a great opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist in our Memphis Regional Office. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting KIPP schools regarding all human resources functions with a focus on benefits and talent. The position works within the Human Resources Team to provide excellent customer service to all KIPP Memphis staff and supports the overall vision of the Human Resources department.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including, but not limited to benefits and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.

Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non‑mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti‑harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

Handle employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Support the performance review process.

Maintain and keep employee records up‑to‑date in both digital and paper formats.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required (or 4 years of relevant experience).

Benefits administration experience.

Human Resources work experience.

Strong experience in data analysis and HRIS.

Preferred

Experience working with benefits and talent management.

Experience using HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity.

Skills and Abilities

Impeccable written, verbal, and presentation skills, with sharp attention to detail.
