Description of Work
Trail & Road Work: Maintains and repairs forest roads, bridges, culverts, trails, and boundary lines, including clearing vegetation and installing signs or gates.
Facility Upkeep: Assists with cleaning, mowing, painting, garbage collection, snow removal, and general repairs at district buildings and comfort stations.
Equipment Care: Performs routine maintenance on tools, vehicles, and power equipment, and keeps written records of equipment use and repairs.
Fire Support: Helps with wildfire suppression and prescribed burns using hand tools, pumps, and other equipment, and attends required fire-related training.
Fence Maintenance: Inspects, clears, and repairs deer exclosure fences and related equipment to keep them functioning properly.
Emergency Assistance: Supports search and rescue efforts, applies herbicides under supervision, posts signage, and follows all safety rules and training requirements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026, with leave without pay and automatic return to employment in March 2027.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Wednesday, and Thursday 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Friday off.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on residency requirements, follow the linked Residency Guidelines.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
