Project IMPACT Internship
Project IMPACT (Improving Mission Performance And Community Together) is an innovative initiative launched by the MUSC Health Charleston Division Executive Leadership Team. It aims to enhance social impact, promote care team member wellness, and advance workforce development and equity in our area.
Internship Overview
We offer two paid internships for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). These internships align with our equity strategic priorities and provide valuable, hands‑on experience in community health initiatives. Program Duration: June 1 – August 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of community‑focused health programs.
Assist with outreach initiatives aimed at engaging local HBCUs and underserved populations.
Help coordinate logistics for program events, including participant management and data collection.
Participate in in‑person activities at MUSC facilities for approximately 40 hours per week throughout the internship.
Collaborate with team members to create educational materials and resources for program participants.
Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for program enhancement and community engagement.
Qualifications
Current undergraduate student attending a Historically Black College or University in South Carolina, preferably majoring in public health, social work, nursing, psychology, or a related field.
Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
Reliable transportation required for on‑site activities.
Must comply with all COVID-19 organizational policies, including vaccination requirements and indoor masking where required.
Compensation
Interns will be paid $15 per hour and work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 12‑week internship.
