Job Description
Microchip has an opportunity for an Inventory Control Clerk(Stores) at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. The Inventory Control Clerk position supports factory operations by receiving, stocking and delivering parts and supplies and maintaining electronic and hard‑copy records to keep inventory optimal for 24/7 operations.

Train and operate in shipping/receiving and inventory warehouse

Receive and stock parts and raw materials according to established procedures

Pull required parts and raw materials from stock and deliver to internal customers following FIFO

Follow outlined procedures located in specification database and training guide

Cycle count inventory of spare parts

Inventory raw materials, e.g., gases and chemicals

Update or modify spare part and raw materials information

Process and review PIOs (inventory purchase orders) for accuracy and need

Accurately complete required computer entry and/or documentation to track inventory

Operate lifting devices such as forklift and pallet jack

Prepare product shipments

Coordinate with Supply Management to expedite down equipment parts, reorder low stock, and repair parts shipments

Requirements / Qualifications

High School or GED plus a minimum of 2 years’ work experience

Customer‑service oriented

Works well with others and independently

Good verbal and written communication skills

Experience with MS Office software

Data entry experience

Valid driver’s license (to transport material as needed to off‑site warehouse)

Preferred Qualifications

Warehouse/Stores/Shipping/Receiving experience in a manufacturing setting

Baan/ERP system experience

Critical Physical Requirements

Regularly lift/carry and/or push/pull/roll objects up to 25 pounds; frequently up to 65 pounds; occasionally up to 75 pounds; team lift items 75-125 pounds

Assisted lift objects that weigh over 1,000 pounds

Work while sitting 40%; standing 30%; walking 30%

Perform repetitive motion tasks

Climb ladders, stairs, or stools for top‑level selection

Use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations (typing, etc.)

Handle, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, reach

Communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing

Work around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature, humidity, and noise
