Scan Global Logistics is a full-service global logistics provider. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with a hybrid/remote work setup, based in Seattle, WA.

Position
Business Development Manager

– reporting to the Regional Vice President of Sales. The role is to drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding the customer base, and nurturing relationships with existing clients. This position requires coordination with Operations to ensure service delivery and KPI achievement.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and maintain strong, long-term relationships.

Identify, target, and pursue new business opportunities across vertical markets (technology, automotive, healthcare, retail, industrial).

Consult with customers to understand logistics needs involving Import, Export, Air Freight, and Ocean Freight services.

Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects through proactive outreach, networking, and referrals.

Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to achieve profitable outcomes.

Promote and sell company services to prospective and existing customers.

Collaborate with operations and internal departments to ensure onboarding, service delivery, and cross-selling between domestic and international business.

Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and rate movements; communicate insights to management.

Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, and customer proposals with pricing and operations teams.

Meet or exceed revenue, gross profit, and growth targets as defined in the business plan.

Maintain accurate sales records and forecasts using CRM tools; provide regular activity and pipeline reports to management.

Conduct sales presentations, business reviews, and client meetings to showcase capabilities and value-added solutions.

Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and conferences to enhance visibility and brand awareness.

Collaborate with leadership to develop and refine commercial strategies that drive growth and customer retention.

Travel frequently (50% or more) within the assigned region, with occasional national or international travel.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics industry.

Strong understanding and operational knowledge of transportation and the logistics industry.

Proven track record of attracting new business and achieving sales targets.

Strong networking and relationship-building skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Self-motivated, results-driven, able to work independently or in a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.

Creative problem-solving to tailor solutions to customer needs.

Adaptability to changing priorities and demands.

Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience preferred.

5+ years of applicable experience in International/Domestic Freight Sales.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Must pass TSA eligibility screening.

$120,000 to $150,000
