DOT Procurement Officer I, Grade 16 (4881), State Highway Administration District 5, St. Mary County.
Job Overview
State Highway Administration District 5 is recruiting for a DOT Procurement Officer I. This position is responsible for soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, awarding and administering supply and service contracts for a district shop according to state procurement laws and COMAR regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, award and administer contracts on behalf of District 5 maintenance facility and office.
Handle all small procurements ( Ensure separation of duties between purchasing and receiving functions.
Assist other support staff; not supervise tasks at same level.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
One year of experience in contract management or procurement, including soliciting, evaluating, negotiating and awarding contracts.
Candidate may substitute professional experience for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
Certificates such as Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional Contracts Manager, Certified Public Procurement Officer, etc. are acceptable substitutes.
Additional graduate education equivalents (30 credit hours per year of required experience).
Military service experience as a commissioned officer in contracting or related fields may substitute for required experience and education.
Licenses & Certifications
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the state of Maryland.
Special Requirements
Valid motor vehicle operator’s license in Maryland.
Available for 24‑hour emergency call‑up with response within one hour.
Provide a reachable telephone number.
Employees in this function will be considered essential employees.
