This is a remote position based in California, and candidates must reside within the state. Keenan is a leading insurance brokerage and consulting firm serving hospitals, public agencies, and California school districts. Specializing in employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial services, and property & liability. As a Reinsurance Examiner, you'll play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate management of reinsurance and excess reporting for workers' compensation and property and liability programs. In this role, you'll ensure reinsurance and excess carriers receive timely and accurate reports, while working closely with managers and supervisors to address inquiries and maintain quality control. You'll analyze large loss reports, provide feedback to the claims team, and support external audits. Your work will help ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all branches. You'll also:
Manage monthly reinsurance reporting and respond to inquiries from carriers.
Review and approve large loss reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Provide ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Support external reinsurance audits and manage carrier system access.
Deliver feedback to the claims team and develop success stories.
Required: Bachelor's degree with 3+ years client service and/or claims management experience -OR- High School degree/GED with 8+ years client service and/or claims management experience. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Appropriate licensing as required.
Preferred: California workers' compensation claims knowledge and experience managing client relationships. Ability to learn property and liability claims.

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
