Summer Inventory Coordinator
The Jamestown Public School District is seeking candidates to fill several positions for Summer Inventory Coordinator. This is a temporary position working up to 40 hours a week, until the inventory from Washington has been redistributed or disposed of. Hourly wage for this position is $20.00/hour.
Purpose Statement: The Summer Inventory Coordinator will support district-wide inventory efforts during the summer months, with a primary focus on the Middle School and Washington Elementary. This position is responsible for organizing, documenting, and preparing surplus furniture, equipment, and supplies for redistribution or public sale. The role requires strong organizational and logistical skills to ensure all assets are accurately tracked and handled in alignment with district procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive inventory of school-owned assets at the Middle School and Washington Elementary, including furniture, technology, textbooks, and supplies.
Sort and organize items for redistribution, storage, sale, or disposal.
Prepare inventory items for public sale, including cleaning, staging, labeling, and organizing sale areas.
Maintain accurate records of all items and their status (e.g., retained, sold, transferred, or disposed of).
Coordinate with district staff to determine appropriate handling and final disposition of assets.
Assist with packing, labeling, and moving equipment and materials as needed.
Ensure compliance with district policies related to inventory control, surplus property, and disposal.
Communicate with supervisors and relevant staff regarding progress and needs throughout the project.
Provide on-site support during any scheduled inventory sale events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in inventory management, logistics, facilities, or a related field preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a project-based role.
Basic proficiency with spreadsheets or inventory tracking systems.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift, move, and organize equipment and materials.
Experience in a school or institutional setting is a plus.
Work Environment:
This position will work primarily on-site at the Middle School and Washington Elementary, with potential travel between district locations. The role involves active, hands-on work including sorting, packing, and moving items. Regular lifting up to 25 pounds is required, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
