Guest Services - Administrative Assistant
Do you enjoy helping people, creating welcoming spaces, and sharing your interest in plants, conservation, and water-wise landscapes? Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District is seeking an Administrative Assistant I / Receptionist - Guest Services to serve as a friendly and knowledgeable first point of contact for visitors to the Garden and Education Center.
In this role, you will welcome guests, answer phone calls and emails, provide information about the Garden, conservation programs, plants, landscaping, and irrigation practices, and help ensure every visitor has a positive experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public, staying organized in a busy environment, and supporting programs that promote conservation, horticulture, and beautiful, sustainable landscapes.
The Administrative Assistant I / Receptionist - Guest Services also supports daily Education Center operations, assists with classroom and rental scheduling, maintains reception displays and seasonal flowerpots, tracks Garden visitation data, helps with clerical tasks, and trains temporary Guest Services Assistants on standard procedures.
The successful candidate will be courteous, professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing phone calls, visitor questions, administrative tasks, and occasional event support. A general knowledge of common plants, irrigation, and landscape practices is important, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent guest service.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, generally scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with periodic evening and Saturday availability needed for Garden or District events and rentals. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of experience in guest services, conservation, horticulture, or a related field.
