Job Summary
The

Physician Assistant (PA)

will provide advanced care to critically ill adult patients with multi-organ or multi-system conditions in the ICU. Working under the supervision of a physician, the PA performs exams, orders and interprets tests, conducts approved procedures, prescribes medications, and implements treatment plans based on evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in a critical care/ICU setting.

Obtain patient histories, perform physical exams, and document findings.

Order, interpret, and explain diagnostic and lab tests.

Perform approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.

Assess patients for changes in condition and initiate emergency interventions as needed.

Participate in quality improvement and clinical research activities.

Educate patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Maintain professionalism and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years as a PA in a critical care/ICU setting.

Licensure/Certifications:

Licensed PA in the State of Texas.

NCCPA Certified.

Texas Prescriptive Authority (DEA).

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
