Summary
Working under the general supervision of the Distribution Superintendent, following specific procedures, performs a variety of duties to effectively control the inventory of finished goods.
Duties and Responsibilities
Unload inbound loads using material handling equipment and receive in WMS correctly.
Ensure all shipping documentation is complete, accurate, and matches the inventory being shipped, including product codes, quantities, weights, and descriptions. Coordinate with warehouse staff to verify packaging and labeling aligns with BOL documentation.
Partner with Warehouse Lead and Superintendent to determine staffing needs for prompt inventory put-away in the designated areas.
Monitor inbound load accuracy and partner with transferring warehouses or quality control team to resolve discrepancies immediately.
Repackage any damaged packaging found during the receiving process.
Monitor inventory count process and populate 2nd and 3rd counts as needed.
Communicate consistent count errors to warehouse leadership promptly.
Prepare and/or analyze inventory reports regularly and complete root cause analysis.
Adjust inventory counts as needed for true errors to maintain warehouse inventory accuracy above 99.9%.
Track customer complaints using Salesforce and respond timely to customer service requests.
Research inventory history accurately to resolve customer complaints and determine root cause.
Process customer returns into the warehouse accurately and timely.
Participate in building 5S activities by always establishing and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Assist and support with shipping clerk job duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
Warehouse Inventory experience preferred
Forklift experience required (stand-up forklift preferred)
Experience using SAP or other ERP systems
Proficiency with Windows based software (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required
Ability to research/resolve problems or issues in a timely manner
Ability to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must possess strong attention to detail
Proficient in handling large volumes of inventory data to identify trends and discrepancies for inventory accuracy.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This position has a transitioning work environment. Office/computer, warehouse and outdoor environments are normal. The noise level in the warehouse environment is usually moderate. Half of the time is spent in an office, and half on the warehouse floor. Some of the work may require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, fall protection, hard hats, etc.
