SUMMARY:
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry. Obtains help by sounding alarms. Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter
Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
Observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels traspassers engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
Watches and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.
Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at entrance to maintain orderly flow.
Perform first aid or CPR
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software; and Word Processing software.
