Schwab Asset Management (SAM) and the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR) deliver trusted, high‑quality investment insights that help advisors and clients make informed decisions. Within SAM’s Asset Management Infrastructure (AMI) organization, the Investment Research Platform (IRP) team owns the shared platforms, standards, and operating models that power quantitative research and enable its secure, consistent, and scalable distribution across the firm. This role is an

position reporting to the Director of Investment Research Platforms. You will own the strategy and delivery of platforms that govern and distribute Schwab’s quantitative research and proprietary ratings, including Quantscape and the Research Distribution Platform. Your work will ensure research is produced and delivered in a consistent, auditable, and scalable way—while enabling future innovation, including AI‑assisted research and advice.

Quantitative Model Management

Own and evolve governed model lifecycle capabilities, including analysis, approval, versioning, lineage, and auditability

Partner with researchers, technologists, and business stakeholders to ensure models and ratings are distribution‑ready

Ensure appropriate tools and controls are in place to monitor data inputs, outputs, and vendor performance, supporting research continuity and integrity

Research Distribution & Advice Enablement

Set strategy for distributing quantitative research to advisors and internal consumers

Expand availability of ratings and launch new, actionable research outputs that support advice delivery

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

Lead the Quantitative Models Advisory Group to drive clarity on outcomes, risks, and dependencies

Run high‑impact engagements with clear agendas, pre‑reads, and documented decisions

Translate advisory input into clear, decision‑ready initiatives and epics

Steward the Investment Research Platform engagement model to ensure consistent adoption across platforms

Platform Strategy, Intake & Prioritization

Define and communicate product vision and roadmap aligned to enterprise priorities

Own intake and prioritization to enable transparent, outcome‑driven demand management

Shape epics by clarifying problems, outcomes, success measures, dependencies, and risks

Balance innovation, stability, and technical foundations through informed trade‑offs

Agile Delivery & Execution

Serve as a product leader within a Scaled Agile Release Train (ART)

Prepare objectives and epics for PI Planning to enable realistic commitments and a refined backlog

Identify and surface cross‑team dependencies and risks early

Use enterprise tools as systems of record for progress, risks, and scope visibility

Transparency, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

Define and track success measures such as adoption, reliability, efficiency, and data quality

Own stakeholder communications, translating delivery status into clear, actionable updates

Drive continuous improvement across product and Agile practices

Mentor colleagues who are developing or aspiring product management skills

What you have
Required Qualifications

8+ years of relevant experience translating business and operational needs into platform or product capabilities that drive measurable outcomes, preferably within financial services or similarly complex environments

Undergraduate degree required

Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, cross‑functional initiatives, including planning, sequencing work, and managing dependencies

Strong product judgement in regulated or governance‑heavy environments, balancing risk, compliance, and delivery

Proven ability to define and maintain clear priorities, backlogs, and roadmaps

Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain quantitative research concepts and platform decisions to both technical and non‑technical audiences

Strong problem‑solving skills, with an ability to investigate root causes and deliver scalable, durable solutions

Collaborative mindset, working effectively with researchers, engineers, operations, governance partners, vendors, and downstream consumers

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in investment management or investment research environments, including exposure to quantitative research, ratings, or research distribution workflows

Experience working in Agile or Scaled Agile environments

Understanding of platform‑based product delivery, including APIs, cloud‑based systems, and enterprise integration patterns

Experience defining and measuring platform success using adoption, reliability, and data quality metrics

Experience partnering with vendors and integrating third‑party solutions within governed enterprise platforms

Familiarity with modern data and technology platforms that support controlled, governed research delivery

Product or Agile certifications and/or advanced industry or graduate credentials are a plus
