Deputy Personnel Director
Serves as Deputy Personnel Director for the national Human Resource Management program which services approximately 39,000 employees in more than 100 institutions, six regional offices, staff training centers and the Central Office. Assists the Personnel Director in directing the development and implementation of policy, including interpretation of federal personnel regulations and practices. In the absence of the Personnel Director, takes final action with respect to Personnel matters formally delegated by the Director of the Bureau of Prisons. Assists the Personnel Director in the development of personnel policies; interpretation of personnel programs; assisting with implementation of personnel programs; resolving problems encountered in the execution of technical personnel programs; promoting the dissemination of personnel management knowledge to managers and supervisors; design and administration of the nationwide professional development programs for Human Resource staff; and keeping abreast of Congressional legislation pertaining to Personnel policies and programs.
