Position Overview
We are supporting a leading renewable energy developer on a utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in San Antonio, TX. They are seeking a Quality Control Lead to oversee on-site quality activities throughout construction and commissioning. This role is responsible for ensuring all installation and commissioning work meets project specifications, industry standards, and company quality expectations. The QC Lead will play a key role in driving quality processes, coordinating with field teams, and supporting successful project delivery through system turnover and energization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead field quality inspections and audits for BESS installation and commissioning activities

Ensure compliance with project specifications, IFC drawings, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable codes/standards

Implement and maintain the project Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

Identify, document, and track NCRs, punch list items, and corrective actions through resolution

Review RFIs, submittals, commissioning plans, and work packages from a quality perspective

Maintain detailed quality documentation including inspection reports, test records, and turnover packages

Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality requirements are met

Support commissioning readiness by verifying inspections, testing, and documentation are complete prior to energization

Participate in daily field walks, coordination meetings, and safety discussions

Promote a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement across the project site

Qualifications

3+ years of QA/QC experience within BESS, renewable energy, power generation, or industrial construction projects

Direct experience supporting battery storage installations or similar electrical/mechanical systems preferred

Strong understanding of quality management systems, inspection processes, and NCR tracking

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics

Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and relevant industry standards

Strong communication and coordination skills across field and project teams

Ability to work on-site in an active construction environment
