Accounting Assistant of Federal Grant Programs
This grant-funded position assists with the development and maintenance of the division's Federal Title I, II, III and IV Part A programs through fiscal responsibility, accountability and program implementation. This position reports directly to the Director of Student Access and Opportunity, under the auspices and direction of the Federal Program Coordinator to ensure the effective implementation of Federal Title I, II, III, and IV Part A programs.
Assists with the management of the Title I, II, III and IV Part A programs to ensure compliance with the requirements of the programs and the Elementary and Secondary Education (ESEA) legislation and Federal regulations.
Assists with the management of the budgets of Title I, II, III and IV Part A that are awarded to the division through the programs ensuring that funds are used in compliance and appropriate ways in accordance with law, grant requirements and with current research.
Assists with Federal Fund accounts and Title budget allocations for all Title schools to ensure compliance with Federal and state Guidelines; OMB regulations; and Stafford County Public School Board policies, regulations, and finance procedures.
Monitors activities and funding for the division's Title I schools and funding, Title II, Title III and Title IV - including but not limited to: budgets, purchase orders, Federal grant forms, procurement of materials and supplies, travel, consultants, stipends, and fringe benefits.
Assists with receiving items in the accounting system.
Receives orders in the MUNIS system.
Processes purchase orders and formats budget for the programs and grants.
Assists with the preparation and submission of any and all reports required by Federal grants such as but not limited to: website compliance, program evaluation, accountability reports, review timesheets, and review and reconciliation of invoices.
Assists with the preparation of various financial reports timely and accurately for all grants.
Compiles data and prepares various statistical, administrative, and professional reports as requested by the Director of Access and Opportunity.
Assists with grant applications and reports, budget documents, meeting agendas, program evaluations, calendars, course descriptions, promotional materials, memos, and other correspondence. Attends meetings, training, workshops, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Assist with internal monitoring and reporting systems to assure compliance and effective grant program administration.
Assists with program audit and prepares and submits financial records/reports as required.
Monitors and implements other programs and projects in the area of responsibility.
Education Attainment (Required): High School Diploma or equivalent
Education Attainment (Preferred): Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred
Relevant Experience (Required): Previous experience and/or training which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform varied accounting procedures and related clerical functions.

Knowledge of field entitlements, grants and federal accountability systems in particular Title I, II, III, and IV programs.
Computer knowledge and related skills, specifically electronically generated spreadsheets and accounting systems.
Knowledge of Stafford County Public School Board policies, regulations and finance procedures.
Use of technology for multiple purposes.
Work cooperatively in a team environment to meet goals.
Organize and perform work independently.
Munis experience a plus.
Federal grant experience a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google office efficiency products including Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Forms.
