Job Title

Job Summary
Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to customers, involving the receipt and payment of cash, while recognizing customers' needs and suggesting appropriate bank services. Follows established policies and procedures in accordance with bank guidelines and supervisor direction.
Responsibilities
Process night deposits and mail-in deposits
Maintain proper cash levels in drawers, keep cash secure, and uphold high safety standards for the bank
Service the ATM as scheduled or as needed
Open safety deposit boxes
Complete CTR reports as required
Perform branch CSR duties during scheduled Saturday rotations
Accept checks for cashing; receive checking and related account deposits; verify cash and endorsements; make change and issue receipts
Receive savings deposits and pay withdrawals after verifying balance and signature; redeem U.S. Savings Bonds
Accept loan payments when accompanied by an installment loan coupon
Process credit card cash advances
Respond to customer inquiries as appropriate
Sell cashier's checks
Cross-sell bank and affiliate services
Perform various balancing functions, including ATM balancing
Complete all required training
Perform other related duties as required or assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of six months of customer service and cash handling experience; banking or financial institution experience preferred
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with the public in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
Maintain confidentiality of bank records and customer transactions
Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to multitask; strong mathematical skills
Ability to operate a computer terminal, 10-key calculator, and general office equipment
Willingness to represent Southern Bancorp in civic and community organizations
