Zoo Worker IV Seasonal - Environmental Services Worker

Hourly Pay Rate: $14.50
1st and 2nd shifts are available. Candidates must be available for weekend work.
1st Shift: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM 12:00 AM
Job Summary: Environmental Services Workers perform janitorial and cleaning duties, as well as handle party setup and breakdowns at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Essential Responsibilities:
Cleaning:

Perform a variety of janitorial or cleaning duties at the Milwaukee County Zoo, to be responsible for the custodial work in assigned areas, to requisition and issue cleaning supplies and materials, to check and report need for repairs.
Maintaining:

To mop, scrub, wax, or polish floors, to wash walls, windows, woodwork and equipment. To collect and dispose of all types of rubbish and trash.
Event Setup and Breakdown:

To set up and break down tables, chairs, risers, stages, and podiums used at public and private events held at the Zoo, to follow a blueprint, or instruction of the event coordinators, to interact with staff or visitor to allow for a successful event.
Other Responsibilities:

Assist other departments with their tasks as needed. Provide information and directions to Zoo visitors, offer support to staff and guests, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Authorized to work in the United States.
Possession of a valid Driver's License, able to be maintained throughout employment.
Must be at least 16 years or older.
Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
Able to lift, carry up to 50 lbs.
Able to push, and pull up to 100 lbs.
Note: This original application is open to permanent residents of the United States. Appointee must establish residency in the state of Wisconsin within six months of start date and maintain such residency during incumbency. In accordance with Section 11, Rule 3 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources. Applicants must possess minimum qualifications at time of filing application.
