The Engineering Clerk plays a vital role in supporting our engineering team by managing and organizing technical documentation, project records, and correspondence to ensure smooth workflow and project accuracy. This position is responsible for maintaining detailed records of engineering projects, including drawings, specifications, and reports, which are essential for project tracking and compliance. The Engineering Clerk acts as a liaison between engineering staff and other departments, facilitating communication and the timely distribution of information. By ensuring that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible, this role contributes significantly to the efficiency and success of engineering operations. Ultimately, the Engineering Clerk helps maintain the integrity of engineering data and supports project delivery within established timelines and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Basic understanding of engineering terminology and documentation.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or certification in office administration, engineering technology, or related field.
Experience with engineering document management systems or CAD software.
Familiarity with project management tools and processes.
Prior experience working in an engineering or technical environment.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:
Organize, file, and maintain engineering documents, drawings, and records in both physical and electronic formats.
Assist engineering staff by preparing and distributing project documentation, reports, and correspondence.
Track project progress and update records to reflect changes, revisions, and approvals.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely receipt and dissemination of engineering information.
Support the preparation of project proposals, bids, and compliance documentation as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive engineering data and proprietary information.
Use specialized software to input, update, and retrieve engineering data accurately.
Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes related to engineering projects.
