Golf Course Maintenance Position
Perform a variety of maintenance functions in the upkeep of assigned golf course and related facilities; maintain fairways, greens, tees and roughs; and perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Essential and Supplemental Functions
Essential functions may include but are not limited to the functions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance and upkeep of assigned golf course, including mowing fairways, greens, tees, and roughs, raking and edging traps, and weed abatement.
Perform and assist in gardening duties which may include planting and trimming trees; spray herbicides and fungicides.
Maintain tee boxes and greens; change cups and move tee markers.
Maintain turf; perform annual certification and overseeing; apply pesticides to maintain greens and turf.
Operate pneumatic devices and hand tools; operate light equipment, trucks and tractors; clean and maintain equipment.
Perform minor maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment.
Assist in the repair and installation of irrigation equipment and systems.
Supplemental functions:
May oversee the work of temporary, seasonal and/or volunteer staff.
Respond to public inquires in a courteous manner.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. High school diploma or GED; and one (1) year of golf course maintenance or park maintenance experience. Additional requirements: possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Working Conditions
Environmental: golf course environment; exposure to noise, dust, and inclement weather conditions. Physical: essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching for prolonged periods of time; recurring lifting of light or moderately heavy items; operating motorized equipment and vehicles.
