Department: Parks & Recreation / Public Works
Supervisor: Superintendent of Parks / Director of Public Works
Bargaining Agent: Construction and General Laborers District Council of Chicago and Vicinity, and Laborers' International Union of North America, Local 681
Residency Requirements: Within one year from the date of hire, all employees in the bargaining unit shall establish and maintain residency within five miles of the City Hall of the City of Morris.
Rate of Pay: $38.69 per hour
Anticipated Hours of Work: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with availability to work weekends, nights, and holidays for emergency situations as needed.
Position Summary
The Parks Laborer performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled manual tasks related to the maintenance, upkeep, and improvement of municipal parks, grounds, and recreational facilities. This position requires the operation of equipment, use of hand and power tools, and adherence to established safety standards while supporting daily operations and seasonal activities.
