Overview
This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of the gas meter shop and ensuring that the proper meters and regulators are required and available for existing customers, new customers and the meter change out program. This position also supervises the maintenance of gas meter records.

Responsibilities

Assures that the proper meters, regulators, ERT, AMI devices, and replacement parts are in stock when required.

Supervises meter repairs performed by shop employees and functions performed by gas meter records personnel.

Ensures that all meters and provers are properly calibrated and associated equipment is maintained.

Generates annual sampling selection, monitors and reports progress of annual sample program, compiles quarterly and annual sampling reports to KPSC.

Maintains records required by State Regulatory Commission on all meters and regulators. Generates internal reports to management and other departments as required.

Actively demonstrates a strong and visible commitment to safety of employees through support and participation of department tailgates, safety audits, supporting company Health and Safety initiatives.

Completes evaluation reports on bargaining unit and non-exempt employees.

Determines which retired meters are to be sold for credit to the Company.

Conducts the first step and participates in the second step of grievance procedure.

Develops and maintains cost center budget.

Performs general functions on computer facilities.

Assists with gas emergencies, as needed, including after-hours response (on-call). This includes providing onsite leadership of emergency situations in accordance with company policies and procedures (leaks, outages).

Ensures that work in the department maintains strict compliance with the Department of Transportation, Kentucky Public Service, OSHA, other regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
Required Education

Associate's degree or an equivalent of education and experience on a year for year basis.

Required Experience

5+ years of experience in gas meter operations or related utility experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in technical area, business, or equivalent with two or more years of previous supervisory experience.

Proficient user knowledge of CCS (Customer Care System) and Watt Net Plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and follow organization processes, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills in maintaining regularly scheduled work processes.
