Business Development Associate, PE Practice – Chicago, IL (on site)
Alexander Group is a leading go-to-market consulting firm focused on helping commercial teams unlock revenue potential. This role manages a defined portfolio of client accounts, develops new and existing private equity and portfolio company relationships, and drives account health and opportunity origination.
Key Responsibilities
Generate engagement with PE-backed portfolio companies through customized outreach and marketing campaigns featuring Alexander Group consulting services, research studies, and leadership events.
Establish and nurture new and existing PE firm contact-level relationships by delivering value-added resources through tailored and programmatic outbound.
Run coordinated outreach that aligns with go-to-market challenges typical in PE-backed environments.
Map and prioritize portfolio companies within key PE firms.
Curate PE firm contacts within assigned accounts.
Build and apply strong knowledge of industry trends, target firms, portfolio composition, and key contacts.
Collaborate and strategize with internal practice leaders.
Coordinate communication between senior executives and industry practice teams.
Build and nurture relationships.
Achieve individual performance metrics, including generating a consistent volume of quality conversations with target senior executives and originating qualified project pipeline.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Five years of experience and a proven track record in business development, sales, or account management in business-to-business markets required.
High EQ, strong listening and organizational skills, and professional maturity.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish relationships with senior executives.
Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture relationships leveraging outbound campaigns and relationship management.
Track record of producing qualified sales pipeline.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000; bonus eligible
