
Social Media Marketing Coordinator

We’re seeking a creative, self-motivated Social Media & Marketing Intern who is passionate about global development, storytelling, and digital media. This role is ideal for students or early-career creatives looking to build their portfolio, learn nonprofit communication strategy, and contribute to real impact.
Responsibilities
Interns may support some or all of the following:
Content Creation & Social Media
Create short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) using existing footage
Draft captions and storytelling copy aligned with our mission and tone
Assist with social media scheduling and posting across platforms
Brainstorm and pitch content ideas, trends, and campaigns
Marketing & Outreach
Support digital marketing campaigns (Giving Tuesday, project launches, etc.)
Create graphics in Canva for social media, newsletters, and donor updates
Help maintain a consistent brand voice across all media
Storytelling & Strategy
Assist in organizing photos/video assets from global project sites
Research relevant topics, trends, and comparable nonprofits for inspiration
Provide insights on audience growth, engagement strategy, and storytelling improvements
Optional Responsibilities (depending on skill)
Email marketing support
Analytics reporting
Qualifications
Required
Interest in social impact, storytelling, global development, or humanitarian work
Strong written communication skills
Basic comfort with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube)
Creativity, initiative, and willingness to learn
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred (but NOT required)
Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or other editing tools
Social media management or content creation experience
Communications, marketing, film, graphic design, or nonprofit background
Portfolio or examples of creative work
Understanding of social media trends and short-form video
