Electrical Support Engineer (PCB Design)

Electrical Support Engineer – Provide engineering and technical support in the design and development of new avionics and related products. Will layout printed circuit boards from schematics, complete design documentation/release, and manage library for individual components.

Qualifications

Technical degree in electronics or electrical related background.

Minimum 5 years relevant design/layout experience.

PCB layout software experience (PADS preferred).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Strong attention to detail.

Organized, focused and results oriented.

Problem-solver with critical thinking and prioritizing skills.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred but not required

Knowledge of AutoCAD.

Experience with Design for Manufacture principles.

High speed and high power PCB layout experience.

Responsibilities

Design layout of printed circuit board files from electrical schematic information.

Coordinate mechanical and electrical requirements to meet product definition.

Create and maintain library of components and associated symbology.

Document design in required formats.

Perform engineering activities related to procurement, build, and troubleshooting of circuit board designs and interfaces.

Support production facilities in manufacturing and testing of products.

Evaluate and qualify component packages through research, selection, testing, and documentation.

Develop PCB Layout standards, practices, and guidelines complying with internal requirements, industry standards, and external manufacturability specifications.

Collaborate with board creation, manufacturing assembly, and component suppliers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.

Complete Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for new and existing designs.

Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM).
