Stanley Consultants is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with facility design experience to join one of our offices. The candidate should have 8-15 years of experience applying standard mechanical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a sequence of related engineering tasks. Experience is required in state or federal building design, university central plants, industrial facilities, mission critical facilities, or related fields. The role will involve new building design, existing building retrofits and upgrades (HVAC, plumbing, etc.), industrial/process facilities, and other energy infrastructure projects across varying sizes and locations.
What You Will Be Doing
Serve as a technical liaison with clients and coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas, participating in mechanical design development from conceptual to detailed design, and coordinating with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, civil, I&C).
Support preparation of engineering and cost estimating reports through data collection and analysis.
Prepare and check design computations for system design, equipment and pipe sizing, and determining service conditions.
Assist in preparing technical specifications for equipment and material.
Lead and mentor 2D/3D designers and less experienced engineers to develop designs and prepare drawings.
Use design and equipment sizing software to prepare engineering and design documents.
Perform or assist with occasional field or site visits for observations, data collection, and documentation.
Consult with construction personnel on design constructability, field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Manager or Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited four‑year college.
8+ years of relevant facility design experience.
Possess PE, or be able to obtain PE within 1 year.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing HVAC systems, plumbing systems, central utility plants, and mechanical distribution systems.
Experience using Trane Trace, Revit, Pipe‑Flo, COMcheck, and/or BLCC software.
LEED AP BD+C credential and/or GBI Guiding Principles Compliance Professional.
Salary: $107,300 - $139,475 a year (for CO, IL, or MN locations)
