The Lymphoma Research Foundation seeks a Communications Manager to be part of a team dedicated to increasing the visibility and impact of the Foundation. The Manager will support a broad communications portfolio, including integrated digital communications, content generation as well as implementation of strategies to engage the Foundation’s constituents and donors, and bolster the Foundation’s brand through various communications vehicles. The ideal candidate is a self-starter possessing strong digital communications and organizational skills, creativity, and attention to detail. Located in New York City, the Lymphoma Research Foundation is the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted to funding innovative research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives, and patient services. The Foundation’s mission is to realize the promise of science to eradicate lymphoma and serve the community touched by this disease.

The Manager will report to the Senior Director of Communications and Constituent Engagement and be accountable for implementing a variety of communications programs across the Foundation. Please note that the organization utilizes a flex schedule, and all New York-based staff are required to work in the office weekly, Tuesday-Thursday; staff may elect to work remotely Mondays and Fridays. The salary range for this exempt position is $65,000-$68,000 annually, based on applicable skills and experience. The ideal candidate for this position will be a detail-oriented professional with 2-3 years of experience in communications. This organized self-starter should be able to confidently manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer service and communication with external stakeholders. They will be effective working independently but comfortable communicating regularly with colleagues, donors, volunteers, and Foundation leadership. The candidate should be a natural problem-solver who proactively researches solutions to challenges and identifies new opportunities for the Foundation while valuing the experience of those around them.

Responsibilities

Manage the Foundation’s Fundraise Your Way program of donor-initiated fundraising events and achieve annual fundraising and program metrics by stewarding and supporting new and existing volunteer fundraisers.

Work with Director of Leadership Annual Giving to identify new fundraisers through discovery and stewardship calls to existing Foundation donors and volunteers and develop strategies to reach outside audiences.

Work closely with Development staff to appropriately steward volunteer fundraisers through the creation and management of stewardship events and incentives.

Responsible for execution of Foundation’s annual Fundraise Your Way Awards program.

Work with Development Operations Team to create and maintain suite of reports related to revenue and other program KPIs.

Participate in the development of Foundation materials and publications.

Serve as member of Foundation Editorial Committee and Deputy Editor of Pulse, the Foundation national magazine.

Assist in the management of the organization’s editorial schedule.

Contribute to Foundation website content, working collaboratively and proactively to create, coordinate, and update content to engage and educate constituents and drive fundraising efforts.

Develop and post content on Foundation social media channels under the direction of the Senior Director and external advisors.

Work collaboratively with the Senior Director, other staff members, and members of the Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Board to ensure social media, communications materials, and video content is well executed in a timely manner.

Develop strategic content and turnkey communications toolkits for Foundation staff, Board members, and key stakeholders to expand and amplify the Foundation’s presence across their personal and professional networks.

Maintain digital editorial, communications, and advertising schedules to ensure cohesive and dynamic messaging about the Foundation’s programs, campaigns, and mission.

Develop content and serve as project manager for all Foundation eCommunications.

Manage collaborative efforts to monitor online activity for coverage of issues affecting the Foundation and the lymphoma community.

Support the development of video content across Foundation programs and departments.

Identify ways to incorporate digital media and communications efforts into all Foundation programming to maximize effectiveness and reach.

Attend Foundation programs and events to incorporate social media, extract communications content, and/or manage videography.

Partner with team members to develop metric reports using digital analytics tools.

Assist with additional duties as necessary.

May need to occasionally lift, carry, and move materials weighing 30 pounds or less.

This position will require some late hours or weekend work during Foundation events.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in communications and digital environments.

Must have experience in managing work product across multiple digital communications platforms.

Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and website management.

Exposure to or experience with image libraries.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proven organizational and interpersonal skills.

Experience with WordPress or other CMS preferable.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva preferable.

Experience with HubSpot or comparable CRM preferable.

Video editing experience preferable.

Interest in/ knowledge of the non-profit or health sectors.
