Associate Producer – Podcast
We are looking for an Associate Producer to support the production of the 48 Hours limited series at CBS News. The role involves research, booking, editing, fact‑checking, and preparing narrative‑documentary style podcasts for video, audio, and social platforms.
The position works closely with a producer and senior producer, reports to the Vice President of Podcast Editorial, and ensures smooth production processes and timely delivery of high‑quality content.
Key Responsibilities
- Support production of 3–4 limited series per year.
- Coordinate scheduling, research, guest preparation, and production materials.
- Assist with studio recordings and day‑of‑production needs.
- Organize media assets and manage handoff to post‑production.
- Lead organization of all audio materials.
- Manage Descript edits.
- Fact‑check all episodes.
- Write episode titles, descriptions, and platform metadata.
- Maintain production calendars and support cross‑functional workflows to ensure deadlines across video, audio, and social platforms.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in podcasting, with a journalism background.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience creating or editing short‑form social video content.
- Familiarity with video and audio editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Pro Tools).
- Knowledge of Riverside and Descript.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Benefits and Compensation
Salary range: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 (specific to New York, California, Colorado, Washington, and other geographies). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability benefits, tuition assistance, and paid time off.
