About this Role
The Senior Communications Manager is a key operations hire for Both Hands. This role is designed for a seasoned marketing executor who can own implementation across channels, keep day-to-day work moving with excellence, and serve as a reliable second-in-command to the Communications Director. You'll be the engine that drives the work forward, ensuring campaigns, projects, and deliverables get done well and on time.

Location and Schedule
This position is based in Middle Tennessee and requires candidates to be locally available. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and in-office collaboration Tuesday through Thursday in Brentwood.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Operations & Implementation
Drive day-to-day execution across all active marketing initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met and work stays on track
Coordinate and align the work of the Social Media & Graphic Design Coordinator and Marketing Manager to ensure priorities are clear and campaigns are executed effectively
Serve as the team's operational hub, keeping projects moving, removing blockers, and maintaining momentum
Maintain clear communication and accountability with the Communications Director on active campaigns, deliverables, and timelines
Ensure continuity of marketing execution during periods when the Communications Director is unavailable or operating at reduced capacity
Lead the day-to-day execution of Both Hands' marketing strategy across channels, aligning with direction set by the Communications Director and organizational priorities
Develop and implement campaign-level strategies to reach adoptive families, churches, businesses, colleges, and orphan care ministries
Develop and manage campaigns for newer project types including Group Projects and Post-Adoption Projects
Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels (email, social, web, print, and events)
Collaborate with external partners, including a marketing agency and digital platforms, to execute and optimize campaigns aligned with organizational goals
Work within the annual marketing budget, aligning spend with campaign priorities
Digital & Web
Analyze digital performance and identify growth opportunities
Oversee website updates and improvements to support key marketing objectives
Track conversions and report on performance using Google Analytics
Content & Campaigns
Write and review marketing copy for emails, campaigns, web, and fundraising materials in collaboration with the Marketing Manager
Execute Both Hands' two annual fundraising campaigns in coordination with the Communications Director
Translate high-level campaign direction into clear execution plans, timelines, and deliverables
Partner with the Communications Director on big-picture content initiatives as they develop
Events & Conferences
Support planning and execution for annual conferences and events in coordination with the Marketing Manager
Represent Both Hands at conferences as needed
Communications Director
– Partner on overall strategy, priorities, and messaging direction; receive direction and translate vision into execution
Marketing Manager (Part-Time)
– Collaborate on campaign planning, emails, blogs, website updates, and performance insights
Social Media & Graphic Design Coordinator – Provide alignment and direction on content, campaigns, and creative assets to ensure consistency with messaging and brand standards
This role ensures that marketing strategy is consistently translated into high-quality execution, enabling Both Hands to grow its reach and impact.
What We're Looking For
6 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field
Strong executor: able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time
Nonprofit experience and/or donor CRM experience strongly preferred (Virtuous, Salesforce, or similar)
Comfortable working in WordPress (Beaver Builder) and Google Analytics
Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
Experience with Canva or similar tools
Self-motivated, organized, and able to operate with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Passion about adoption, orphan care, and widow care and a heart for James 1:27
Valid driver's license; willingness to travel 4–6 times per year
