Job Title: High School/Middle School Musical Assistant Director
Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join Saydelas High School/Middle School Musical Assistant Director. This position will work closely under the guidance of the Head Musical Director to assist in the production of our annual musical, involving students ranging from 5th to 12th grades.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Head Musical Director to plan and execute all aspects of the musical production, including auditions, rehearsals, and performances.
Assist in coordinating schedules, rehearsals, and communication with students, parents, and staff involved in the production.
Provide support and guidance to students during rehearsals, helping them develop their performance skills and understand their roles within the production.
Assist in organizing set design, costumes, props, and other production elements, ensuring they align with the artistic vision of the show.
Supervise students during rehearsals and backstage during performances, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
Offer constructive feedback and encouragement to students to help them improve their performance abilities and confidence.
Assist in resolving any conflicts or challenges that may arise during rehearsals or performances, fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
Support the Head Musical Director in any other tasks related to the production, as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience working with students in theatrical productions, preferably in a middle school or high school setting.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
A passion for the performing arts and a commitment to fostering creativity, confidence, and teamwork in young performers.
Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the needs and challenges of a dynamic production environment.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with the ability to motivate and inspire students of varying ages and skill levels.
Knowledge of musical theater techniques, terminology, and production processes is preferred but not required.
