Job Summary
The Neag School of Education is seeking a Publicity/Marketing Coordinator to support promotion, marketing activities, and special projects or services for the UConn Neag School of Education. The Coordinator will develop and execute publicity and marketing strategies for events, workshops, and programs that engage Neag School alumni, students, faculty, and staff. This role reports to the Director of Communications and Digital Strategy and works under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and implementing marketing and promotional strategies; serve as a resource to other staff regarding effective promotion.

Design, schedule, and produce brochures, posters, flyers, advertisements, and other informational and promotional materials.

Write and edit copy for press releases, public service announcements, informational listings, and other publicity materials.

Maintain relationships with public media to promote coverage of department events and assist with special media events.

Maintain and update mailing lists and other necessary records; keep files of promotional activities for each event and help evaluate the success of campaigns.

Create photo/video content to promote Neag School events.

Promote and foster internal and external relations through social media platforms, email marketing, and other tactics with constituent groups.

Organize and implement several Neag School events.

Lead student employees as assigned.

Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.

Two to three years of experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.

Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing and promotional plans.

Attention to detail; ability to proofread and edit.

Experience with social media platforms and utilization strategies.

Experience with graphic design standards and practices.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and marketing automation software such as MailChimp.

Organizational skills, initiative, independent and accurate work, sound judgment when managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Four to five years of experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.

Familiarity with photography and videography content creation.

Media relations knowledge.

Knowledge of webpage design and management using Content Management Systems such as WordPress.

Appointment Terms
This is a full‑time, permanent, 12‑month position with an anticipated start date in June 2026. Salary range is $57,505 to $74,756 and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
