Title: Graphic Designer - Intern

Duration: 3 months (21 Hours/week)

Job Description:

Candidate Roles and Responsibilities:

Create monthly employee newsletter that is ADA-compliant using Adobe InDesign. Reach out to different unit staff for content. The final newsletter will be sent out as ADA compliant PDF.
Create outreach event flyers using pre-existing templates in Adobe InDesign and export it as ADA-compliant PDF which later must be submitted to Department of Records and Information Services (DORIS) for record.
Work on graphic design projects such as creating invitations, posters, event programs, PowerPoint presentations, factsheets, guides, brochures, PDF forms, informational materials and more.
In-house support for internal video recordings and video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Submit monthly reports delivered from various units as well as outreach flyers to the Government Publications Portal for record.
Work with translation vendor to have documents translated into different languages when needed.
Submit requisitions for promotional items and work with vendors for the production process by providing artwork and design mark-ups.
Minimum Qualifications:

baccalaureate degree, with a major in fine or graphic arts, from an accredited college and one year of full-time paid experience as a commercial or graphic artist; or
four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus two years of training in a technical school approved by a state's Department of Education or comparable governmental agency, in oils, water colors, painting, design, black and white, layout, computer graphics, and other art media, and three years of acceptable full-time paid experience as a commercial or graphic artist.
Preferred Skills:

Candidates must have a portfolio demonstrating a range of visual communication skills, analytical ability, strong typography, and exceptional creative talent. Role requires one who is self-motivated, detail oriented, well-organized, and able to work under deadlines.
Candidates must have strong communication, presentation, and production skills. Technical knowledge and expertise using Adobe Creative Cloud is essential. Candidate must know how to use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Candidate with knowledge of making PDF, Word docs and Excel files ADA compliant is preferred.
Knowledge of motion graphic software, such as Adobe After Effects, and basic HTML knowledge are a plus.
