Primary Purpose Of Job:
Concept, design and produce graphics and visual materials for print and digital media. Ensure the layout and design are aligned with brand standards. Contribute to moderately complex aspects of design projects. Work directly with Creative Group Manager on Store Development projects to create a cohesive and branded marketing solution for R&D and implementation. Act as Art Director/Final Approver for select design categories. Retouch RAW photos from professional photographers with collaboration alongside the Senior Producer. Contribute to brand strategy development and campaign initiatives with agency. Mentor junior designers to enhance group skillset.
Major Functions For This Position:
Concept and design print and digital layouts, and motion graphics, for marketing campaigns, store and event signage, packaging and various other QuikTrip projects. Coordinate with the Creative Group Manager, customers and stakeholders to conceptualize and deliver design solutions to achieve a positive impact on sales and/or awareness. Contribute design expertise to moderately complex marketing projects. [60%]
Promotional phase materials (print and digital)

Annual and quarterly reports

Plaques, trophies, and certificates

Recruitment materials
Regulatory decals, warnings, and directional signage for stores and offices
Social media graphics or photos
Attend press checks as needed
Act as art director/approver for directional billboards, gift card reprints, Trailblazers, packaging, and other select design projects
Assist Creative Group Manager with store development projects; manage, coordinate, and/or contribute to ancillary design projects. [20%] May include but is not limited to:
Attend store development meetings in Creative Group Manager’s absence
Understand how changes can affect current marketing assets and how it can affect uniformity. Recommend effective solutions and advocate on behalf of marketing.
Help develop creative strategy and solutions as it pertains to specific store development projects
Communicate with vendor partners to develop prototype hardware or design elements
Assist with creating kit visuals for rollout
Meet with other departments and agencies to understand their vision, goals, and deadlines
Build out an appropriate timeline for the project and stay on top of each stage of development
Gather all pertinent copy and design assets. If photography, existing graphics, or copy is needed, coordinate logistics to obtain within appropriate time frame
Recruit assistance from others in the department if necessary
Communicate progress with the marketing coordinators, project stakeholders and Creative Group Manager
Present project to stakeholders
Prepare final files for appropriate output
Retouch original RAW photos from professional photographers [10%]
Collaborate with Creative Group Manager and studio Producer(s) to determine areas needing enhancements
Utilize Photoshop and Capture One to retouch RAW photos in a non‑destructive way. This includes color correction, shape enhancements, detail refinement, adding props or background, compositing multiple images, etc.
Mentor and teach junior designers in creative group [5%]
Assist in training new designers. This includes Adobe functionality, preparing files for final output, file organization, reviewing photography assets, current processes and procedures
Teach new techniques, tips and tricks to the group as necessary
Recognize opportunities for efficiency and efficacy in design and present new solutions to the group or to individuals
Design development [5%]
Review all available art, design and electronic publishing publications to keep current with graphic styles, techniques and trends.
Research specifications for point‑of‑purchase and merchandising materials as required for art production.
Visit stores frequently to evaluate signage applications and make recommendations to Creative Group Manager or Brand Manager.
Recommend vendors on various projects as needed.
Research and development on Macintosh software needs and requirements.
Attend monthly production meetings.

Inside the Company: Corporate and Division staff, Sales, Operations, Purchasing and Marketing.
Outside the Company: All art‑related vendors, art department equipment vendors, Macintosh vendors, suppliers and print production vendors, photographers.

Required education:
Associates or Bachelors in Graphic Design or Visual Communications
Desired education:
Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or other art‑related field.
Required experience:
4‑6 years as a Graphic Designer in a retail or food environment.
Desired experience:
6 years experience as a Graphic Designer in a retail or food environment.
Required skills:
Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality design work quickly while balancing a demanding workload. Ability to work independently. Must be highly creative, detail‑oriented, organized, and have problem‑solving abilities. Must be capable of working on many unrelated jobs concurrently. Must be able to navigate and work in all Adobe Creative Suite programs (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop; After Effects is a must). Must have knowledge of basic design principles such as kerning, composition, color space, and visual hierarchy.
Desired skills:
Fine art and drawing experience a plus. Videography and animation experience. Strong proofreading skills.
Interview Requirement:
Strong portfolio that indicates knowledge of design basics (composition, typography, color, balance, alignment, visual hierarchy, contrast, negative space) and evidence of creativity. Must understand process for preparing files for final output.
Salary:
Starting salary range: $68,100 - $85,080
