Overview

Job Title : Writer-Reporter, TV
The Writer-Reporter is supervised by the Senior Editor and is responsible for pitching, reporting and writing stories across platforms. The candidate is an excellent writer and researcher, reporter and interviewer with sound news judgment and a collaborative approach. They will write daily under tight deadlines, assist in developing sources and supporting long-term reporting initiatives, cover breaking news and events (night or weekend work as needed), and possess strong knowledge of the digital landscape, including SEO, Discover and analytics.
Responsibilities

60% - Writing stories on deadline across platforms
20% - Reporting stories and conducting interviews
10% - Pitching content
10% - Taking on and organizing special content projects as needed, and other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Education
BA/BS degree, preferably in journalism or communications, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience
Minimum 2 years experience writing for a high volume, digital news operation.
Specific Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to work independently.
Strong writing and research skills and impeccable journalistic standards.
Ability to respond quickly to breaking news.
Strong reporting and interviewing skills and the ability to cultivate new sources
Have a passion for the PEOPLE brand.

Pay Range

Salary: California: $70,304.00 - $70,304.00
The pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the range and may change. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance. Other compensation may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
