General Description
Take photographs as needed for college events, personnel, publications, website and other marketing materials as needed.

Reports To: Executive Director of Communications.

What position(s) reports to this position? None.

Minimum Education and Experience
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours in the fall or spring semesters or a minimum of 3 credit hours in the summer semester.

OR

Current OCCC student with a federal work study award.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Photography skills and knowledge of digital editing software.

High level of responsibility, reliability and punctuality.

Strong interpersonal/communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work a consistent schedule.

Display a positive work attitude.

Basic computer skills.

Ability to follow instructions and see tasks through to completion.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
General Physical Requirements
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Activities
Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which one must convey detailed or important spoken information or instructions to others.

Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Visual Acuity
Requires visual acuity to perform activities such as but not limited to: determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

Working Conditions
Typical office environment; this position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Work Hours
Work hours will be arranged during normal work hours, M-F, 8:00 – 5:00. Hours not to exceed 25 hours per week.

Job Duties (Position Specific)

Schedule and coordinate headshot sessions for students, faculty, and staff.

Set up and break down lighting, backdrops, and camera equipment.

Maintain a clean and organized shooting area.

Edit headshots and event photos using Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop.

Ensure consistent quality, color correction, cropping, and retouching standards.

Organize and archive digital assets in a shared photo library.

Resize and format photos for web, print, and social media use.

Support staff and professionals during video shoots by setting up equipment (lights, microphones, cameras).

Operate secondary camera angles or assist with recording as needed.

Monitor audio and lighting conditions during shoots.

Help organize and manage video files post-production.

Keep photography and video equipment in clean, working condition.

Maintain studio organization and safety standards.

Contribute ideas for visual storytelling and branding consistency.

Collaborate with staff to ensure photography aligns with the college’s image and mission.

Stay up to date on trends in visual media and propose improvements to workflows.

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
