Program Manager, Christianity & The Common Good (CCG), Human Flourishing Program
Position Summary: The Program Manager will report to the Human Flourishing Program Executive Director and will oversee all operational activities of CCG, including administrative systems, financial processes, communications, event planning, donor engagement, staff hiring and research/teaching support.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day‑to‑day administration and operations of CCG, including managing the annual program calendar, developing SOPs, and ensuring alignment with HFH and PBLCLS policies.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, supervise staff and student workers, assign work, provide feedback, and conduct annual performance reviews.
Oversee course and seminar creation and delivery for CCG‑affiliated offerings, coordinating with faculty on syllabi, schedules, logistics, and student communication.
Serve as primary liaison for CCG with IQSS Business Operations, affiliated faculty and researchers, HFH and PBLCLS staff and visitors; resolve operational issues and elevate complex matters.
Develop and maintain internal tracking systems (contracts, projects, commitments, deliverables, reporting) to ensure timely implementation of activities.
Financial Operations
Develop financial systems and processes.
Enter, track, and reconcile invoices, reimbursements, purchasing card transactions, and vendor payments in Harvard financial systems.
Monitor the CCG budget and research funding with IQSS Finance teams.
Prepare regular financial reports for the Executive Director.
Flag variances or potential overruns and recommend adjustments.
Ensure compliance with Harvard, FAS, IQSS, HSPH, and financial policies.
Communications
Develop and execute communications strategy, content planning and messaging aligned with the initiative’s mission.
Establish and maintain CCG website, social media, and email lists; track and analyze engagement metrics.
Develop, plan, write, edit, and distribute key deliverables such as newsletters, event announcements, donor updates, and annual activity summaries.
Serve as primary point of contact for the CCG Board, Faculty Co‑Directors, affiliates, students, donors, and external partners; coordinate timely information sharing.
Collaborate with HFH, PBLCLS, and other Harvard communications teams to promote CCG initiatives and ensure consistent branding.
Event Management
Design and manage annual schedule of conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events in consultation with faculty leads and affiliates.
Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including speaker invitations, timelines, venues, AV, catering, and participant travel arrangements.
Lead event marketing and publicity, including promotional materials, website and social media postings, and email campaigns.
Manage registration processes and attendee communications from invitation to post‑event follow‑up; track attendance and collect feedback.
Serve as primary liaison for speakers, panelists, and co‑sponsoring organizations, ensuring compliance with Harvard policies and budget parameters.
Working Conditions
Work setting: Office.
Travel: Approximately 10%, local and/or national.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (required)
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably in educational and/or social impact leadership.
Additional Qualifications and Skills (preferred)
2+ years of project and event management experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work within a team across different projects and work streams.
Ability to work independently, analyze problems, and develop practical solutions.
Additional Information
Standard hours/schedule: 35 hours per week.

This is a one‑year term appointment from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension.
