Accountability Summary
The Social Media Intern is accountable for creating and executing timely, on‑brand social media content that promotes the hotel, its outlets, and community involvement. This role supports the hotel’s overall marketing strategy by maintaining a positive brand image, increasing engagement, and collaborating with internal teams to highlight events, initiatives, and guest experiences.

Education & Experience

Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Digital Media, or a related field preferred

Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication

Strong writing skills with an eye for detail

Comfortable with photography and short form video capture and editing

Understanding of analytics and social performance metrics

Familiarity with the Bryan/College Station is a plus

Tools & Equipment

Ability to operate a computer, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other standard office equipment

Proficiency with mobile devices for content creation

Comfortable using basic software, social media platforms, and digital tools

Work Environment

Primarily office‑based with frequent movement throughout the hotel and event spaces

Attendance at hotel and community events, which may include evenings or weekends

Long hours may be required during events, campaigns, or peak activity periods

Mental & Cognitive Requirements

Ability to convey information and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing

Strong problem‑solving skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve workplace issues

Ability to evaluate multiple options and make timely, accurate decisions

Capacity to assimilate and analyze information from multiple sources and adapt to changing priorities

Effective listening skills with the ability to understand and address concerns from team members and guests

Ability to understand basic financial information, data, and perform basic arithmetic functions

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work environment with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment

Visual and auditory ability sufficient to perform job duties effectively

Duties & Functions
Essential Responsibilities

Capture and curate high quality photo and video content highlighting the hotel, rooms, amenities, events, dining and local experiences

Develop, schedule and publish content across social media platforms

Write compelling captions that align with LaSalle Hotel’s brand voice and tone

Monitor comments, messages, and reviews, responding in a timeline and professional manner

Track social media performance and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations

Assist with influencer partnerships and content collabs as needed

Attend hotel events and community initiatives to capture live content and promote community engagement

Coordinate with Sales and F&B teams to help create marketing collateral and promotional content

Support social media campaigns, activations, and interactive marketing efforts

Stay current on social media trends and share ideas with leadership

Strong interest in social media, marketing, hospitality, or communications

Comfortable creating content using a mobile device and basic editing tools

Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and similar platforms

Creative, organized, and detail-oriented

Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends

Marginal Responsibilities

Other duties as required | Participate in all hotel and departmental meetings as requested
