Social Media Growth Specialist

Birches Health, New York, NY, United States

Salary: 60.000 - 80.000

Employment type: Full Time

About Birches Health
Online gambling has rapidly reshaped behavior in the U.S. with over 175 million Americans now participating. Rates of gambling disorder are rising just as quickly. Yet access to specialized, evidence-based care remains limited.

Birches Health is building the category-defining provider for behavioral addiction treatment, starting with gambling. We deliver virtual, insurance-covered care from specialized clinicians, helping patients regain control while improving outcomes for payors and employers.

Our mission is clear: become the default place people turn to when gambling becomes a problem.

We’re backed by leading healthcare and consumer investors including General Catalyst, Will Ventures, Haystack, and Operator Partners. We closed our Series A late 2025.

About the Role
First and foremost this is a growth role, we’re not just looking for someone to "post content".

Reporting directly to the CMO, you will own and scale Birches Health’s organic social presence from the ground up, turning Organic Social into a meaningful client acquisition and brand channel.

We are looking for someone who has already grown an audience from zero to something real and is excited to do it again in a fast moving and rapidly growing startup.

What You’ll Be Responsible for:
Building and scaling our consumer facing social presence

Own Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook channels

Grow from early traction to meaningful audience scale

Creating content that performs and resonates with people dealing with a real problem

Develop short‑form video and static content that drive engagement

Write hooks that stop the scroll in the first 1–3 seconds

Balance authority (clinical credibility) with relatability

Running a high‑velocity experimentation engine

Ship content multiple times daily

Test formats, hooks, creators, and narratives

Use watch time, comments, saves, and shares as primary signals

Turn social into a growth channel

Partner with paid social team to identify winning creatives for amplification

Support creator/UGC and influencer collaborations

Build a stable of creators to help develop content at scale on a budget

Shape the voice of the category

Help define how “a gambling problem” is talked about publicly

Build a strong and consistent presence in the gambling recovery community

What “Great” Looks Like:
You’ve grown a social account (or multiple) to:

50K+ followers

Millions of views across videos

Demonstrable business impact (traffic, leads, revenue)

You understand:

What makes content go viral (and why most doesn’t)

How to translate trends into brand-relevant content

The difference between vanity engagement and real growth

You move fast:

You test ideas quickly and learn from the data

You care about outcomes:

You move quickly, but know when to slow down and get it right. This is a sensitive category.

Who You Are

Up to 5 years experience in social media growth, content creation, or creator-led marketing

Proven track record of growing a social following for a brand or yourself

Strong instincts for short‑form video

Comfortable being hands‑on with filming, editing, writing, posting, commenting, engaging

Data‑driven

Familiar with AI tools for content creation (but not reliant on them)

Excited by early‑stage startup environments and comfortable with ambiguity

Bonus if:

Strong curiosity about sports betting or gambling behaviors and what drives them

Experience in healthcare, mental health, or sensitive categories

Experience working with creators or building UGC pipelines at scale on a budget

Background in performance marketing or paid social

What you’ll get

Real ownership & creative freedom: you’ll have space to figure out what works and actually build something from the ground up.

Speed: if you have an idea, you can test it today.

Direct access: you’ll work closely with the CMO and leadership team. No layers or waiting around for decisions.

A chance to build something meaningful: this work matters, and the content you create can genuinely help people recognize a problem and do something about it.

Early‑stage upside: you’ll be joining while things are still being built, which means more influence and more opportunity as we grow.

Benefits include: medical, dental, vision insurance, plus stock options.

Salary range: $70‑100k depending on experience
