FischTank is looking for an experienced PR professional (4+ years industry work experience) to join its award-winning team as an Account Manager. The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
conducting media outreach to top tier, trade, and regional media outlets (print, online, and broadcast)
strong pitch writing and ideation abilities
account management/junior staff capabilities
media monitoring for trends and client news
a knack for identifying key journalists for outreach
strong writing and phone skills
the ability to work autonomously with oversight from senior team members.
This role has a heavy focus on facilitating day-to-day account success - media relations and pitching, social media, content writing, client management/communications, junior staff management - so the candidate should have an aggressive strategy toward those tasks. This is an opportunity to work with a terrific team of PR pros with great clients, who love getting big time media (and have a monthly contest to prove it).

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years’ experience at a public relations firm or related agency
Minimum one year experience serving as a client-facing person on agency accounts
Demonstrated success working with energy tech/sustainability and/or B2B tech clients
The confidence to ask for help/support where needed, but to trust judgement and experience in order to maintain autonomy
Ability to conceptualize and produce strategic written documents spanning planning docs, media pitches, press releases and bylines/op-eds
Experience in pitching regional and national media preferred
Proficient writing and editing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs and Dropbox; experience using media database Muck Rack preferred but not required
Works well in an open, team environment
Strong focus but ability to multi-task
Responsibilities

Reports to Account Directors and FischTank principals
Support the success of 6+ accounts (starting with approximately four)
Exhibit client management skills, including email correspondence, weekly/bi-monthly calls with clients, agenda preparation, in-person meetings and media event staffing, and most importantly – transparent dialogue when things may not be optimal or going smoothly.
Execute, support and provide internal counsel on roles including not limited to client communications and reporting, content management, social media strategy (where applicable), PR strategy, and media outreach
Conducting media strategic outreach with monthly results impactful to the client's business
Supervise junior account management personnel, generally one to three additional team members of varying levels. Any supervised personnel need to be held accountablefor deadlines, content, media outreach, timeliness and attendance for phone calls and meetings.
Leadership qualities are paramount. This candidate must be a strong, positive presence in the office but also capable of setting the tone and addressing colleagues who aren’t pulling their weight, achieving results, or exhibiting the necessary work ethic.
Salary (based on experience): $83,000+
