Job Description
The Academic & Government division at Taylor & Francis Group is hiring an Account Manager to manage the Northeast United States territory. The role requires a hunter mindset, strong verbal communication, and ethical standards. The position is remote.
Design, implement, and own a 1‑to‑3 year sales strategy for eBooks, Journals, and Open Access.
Achieve and exceed annual sales targets, contributing to revenue and profit objectives.
Plan schedules and conduct regular sales visits to customers to meet financial targets across the product portfolio. Travel expected 30%–50%.
Develop strong professional and industry stakeholder networks with key accounts within the assigned territory.
Cultivate holistic relationships with the customer base to ensure sustainable, profitable trading and high satisfaction.
Collect and disseminate market, competitor, and customer feedback.
Formulate a strategic approach to short, medium, and long‑term business in the territory, ensuring relevance and flexibility.
Uphold company trading and terms policy to protect profitability and business value.
Liaise with stakeholder departments (product specialists, sales support, editorial, marketing) to enhance coverage.
Analyze products, customers, markets, and competitors; maintain knowledge of trends; identify opportunities; provide recommendations.
Regularly update the CRM with customer and opportunity information.
Qualifications
2–5 years of successful account management experience.
Professional manner, tactful interaction, effective under pressure.
Analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and conduct research.
Problem‑solving ability, including timely resolution and development of alternative solutions.
Clear oral communication and active listening skills.
Team player balancing team and individual responsibilities.
Leadership ability to inspire and motivate others.
Business acumen with understanding of the implications of decisions; orientation to profitability and market competition.

Role is home‑based; requires a suitable remote work set‑up.
Domestic and international travel to T&F offices and opportunities may be required.

Base salary $75,000–$85,000 plus annual sales bonus (25% if OTE’s are met, may exceed up to 100%).
