In this role, you will provide strategic oversight and delivery leadership across oncology clinical research projects while supporting business development and client relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for all assigned projects to ensure study launch, conduct, and closeout meet contractual agreements, quality standards, SOPs, GCPs, and ICH guidelines.
  • Forecast, prioritize, and direct staff to achieve on‑time sponsor deliverables with quality and within the contracted scope and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with Therapeutic Strategy and Innovation teams to provide operational input for proposal development and pricing.
  • Lead the preparation and facilitation of bid defense meetings in collaboration with Therapeutic Strategy, Innovation, and Business Development teams.
  • Oversee financial aspects of assigned projects, including executed contracts, CNFs, change orders, forecasting, invoicing, and budget management.
  • Mentor Project Management staff in leadership skills, customer management, project management, trusted process compliance, and specific project tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve project‑related difficulties, manage escalations, facilitate team communication, and act as a liaison between functional areas to address operational issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving therapeutic area trends, competitive landscape, and drug development trends.
  • Support teams in risk assessment and mitigation to ensure patient safety, data integrity, and quality project delivery.
  • Participate in corporate initiatives and represent Project Management in regional or business activities.
  • Participate in the project risk review meeting process.
  • Promote optimized application of project management disciplines in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with key stakeholders cross‑functionally.
  • Support change management, including adjustments for emerging business or technical opportunities and challenges.
  • Maintain senior management‑level relationships with customers through routine meetings, governance sessions, and other forums.
  • Act as the senior operational leader and key point of contact for assigned clients, building and sustaining long‑term partnerships.
  • Understand client needs and proactively implement tailored solutions that add value.
  • Establish and maintain governance structures for client relationships, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Drive client satisfaction by ensuring smooth operational delivery and minimal escalation needs.
  • Present Syneos Health capabilities and updates during client governance meetings, enhancing the organization’s value proposition.
  • Lead proposal development for new opportunities, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, competitive submissions.
  • Contribute to winning new business by providing strategic insights and operational expertise during bid defense meetings.
  • Own overall strategy and execution for project delivery across a portfolio of clinical research studies.
  • Conduct monthly risk reviews, quarterly financial assessments, and regular delivery checkpoint meetings to ensure project health.
  • Drive data‑driven decision‑making using dashboards and analytics to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Mentor project leaders in risk management, forecasting, and operational excellence.
  • Maintain accountability for the financial health of assigned projects, ensuring accurate monthly forecasts and effective scope management.
  • Partner with finance and operational teams to manage resource allocation, budget adherence, and profitability.
  • Negotiate change orders and manage out‑of‑scope activities to protect organizational interests.
  • Align financial strategies with operational execution.
  • Foster a culture of cross‑functional collaboration and high performance within project teams.
  • Mentor and develop project leaders, empowering them to make data‑driven decisions and resolve issues independently.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support resource onboarding, training, and professional development.
  • Partner with line managers to optimize staff performance and engagement.
  • Lead by example in delivering compliant and high‑quality projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Engage in corporate and departmental initiatives to improve project delivery and organizational efficiency.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to align GPM interests with broader organizational goals.
  • Champion change management efforts, including system and process migrations.

Salary Range
