Position Summary
The Relationship Manager role is a full‑time position that helps manage and grow critical community relationships with the goal of developing strong program partnerships, fundraising opportunities, and corporate employee engagement. Candidates will be strong individual contributors who have a history of meeting and exceeding fundraising goals and who value working collaboratively across teams. This is a multi‑faceted position that will help expand the JA footprint in Eastern North Dakota while simultaneously working to generate funding for JA programs and engage new or emerging partners in volunteerism, events, and employee giving.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, cultivate, and solicit both emerging and established funding partners.

Actively engage with and manage a portfolio of funding prospects, including cultivation, solicitation, closing of gifts, and stewardship.

Work closely with the Director to ensure a comprehensive development strategy is implemented to achieve superior customer service while exceeding funding goals.

Promote employee engagement with corporate partners through volunteerism, special events, and employee giving. Collaborate with the regional program manager to meet program volunteer needs.

Create and deliver funding/sponsorship proposals and event solicitations.

Manage, support, and grow the assigned Regional Advisory Board to support the organization’s goals in the region.

Identify opportunities for networking, events, and engagement in the community. Actively attend and represent Junior Achievement to gain new connections for the organization.

Raise the profile of Junior Achievement in the region by securing speaking opportunities, new partnerships, and media exposure to grow the organization’s opportunities.

Lead, promote, and deliver special events to generate funding and awareness.

Work in partnership with the regional Program Manager to ensure program impact is aligned with fundraising in the region and state.

Support Experiential Learning programming efforts throughout the region and state by building relationships with community partners and volunteers, including stewarding funding partners during program events.

Demonstrate knowledge and commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Perform special assignments and program support as assigned by the Director of Regional Advancement.

Education / Experience Requirements

3–5 years of fundraising, business development, or equivalent experience.

Ability to successfully cultivate and solicit corporate, foundation, and individual gifts; experience soliciting five‑figure gifts.

Track record of achieving goals.

Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills, and strong communication skills.

Committed to quality and integrity, and the ability to work with cross‑functional teams and to foster teamwork by exhibiting JA North’s value‑based behaviors.

Strong commitment to team and mission.

Ability to prioritize, manage, and work on multiple projects.

Literacy in Microsoft Office Suite products.

Experience using a fundraising database (CRM) and moves management best practices.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

Ability to travel across Eastern North Dakota for meetings and events; occasional evening and weekend events.
