Managing Editor . This person will directly oversee day‑to‑day news coverage and play a key role in charting newsroom strategy.
The ideal candidate combines uncompromising journalistic integrity with an insatiable appetite for innovation in a thriving, tradition‑rich news environment.
What you’ll do:

Guide a team of news reporters covering Omaha and the state of Nebraska
Help shape The World‑Herald’s multiplatform product lineup, including newsletters, podcasts, visual journalism, and whatever comes next
Embrace a “lead from the field” model in which you’re finding ways to contribute to coverage as a reporter, writer, and content creator
Build and maintain relationships with key community and company stakeholders

A proven track record of leading high‑impact news coverage in a fast‑paced, competitive environment
An appreciation for the news, politics, business, and cultural landscapes in Nebraska
A relentless desire to innovate and build new things
An excellent communicator and collaborator comfortable working with reporters, editors, and other stakeholders
