This is a hybrid role but most live in Pierre, South Dakota | $18-$21/hour

The Capital Journal, premiere newspaper for South Dakota's capital city, is looking for a motivated and energetic general assignment reporter to join our team.

In this exciting position, you will report on a wide array of stories that capture the heart and soul of Pierre and Fort Pierre. You will have the chance to cover everything from local sports, featuring our celebrated 7-time state championship football team, to the vibrant outdoor activities that our community loves, such as biking, fishing, and hunting. In addition, you will dig into local education matters and highlight unique features and enterprise stories that matter to our readers. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to grow your journalism skills while earning a competitive salary in a welcoming and picturesque town along the stunning Missouri River.
