Job Summary
Business Development Manager – Higher Education. Accountable for driving adoption of the Q‑SYS platform and ecosystem within the higher education vertical, acting as an individual contributor and championing the Q‑SYS solution set to key contacts in colleges and universities. This role is located on the East Coast (FL, GA, NY, NJ, PA, CT preferred).

Key Responsibilities

Develop and continuously improve technical understanding of the Q‑SYS solution set.

Communicate effectively and articulate a strong value proposition.

Ask pertinent questions and actively listen.

Share key information with internal Q‑SYS stakeholders (Consultant Liaisons, Channel Sales & Strategic Account Team).

Maintain consistent sales activity levels.

Understand how higher‑education AV‑IT teams operate.

Learn and employ company workflows and protocols.

Understand common client use cases and applications.

Operate effectively through all phases of the sales cycle (prospecting, client development, account management).

Share team and organizational values and goals.

Demonstrate coachability and accountability.

Additional Responsibilities

Attend trade shows and follow up with new and existing customers.

Drive attendance at technical training sessions.

Promote online learning for end customers.

Assist with occasional special projects.

Organize and conduct effective customer meetings.

Maintain data integrity in Salesforce CRM.

Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

High School Diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Minimum 5 years of personal selling experience within the AV industry.

Proven experience collaborating with adjacent sales teams (consultant liaisons, strategic and channel).

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Strong judgment in prospect selection and time allocation.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and sales management software (ERP/CRM).

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Highly independent and self‑motivated.

Strong listening and customer‑management skills.

Ability to build positive relationships at all levels.

Consistent reporting and updates via CRM software.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $83,300.00 to $164,400.00 (variation by experience and geographic location). Benefits include health care, dental coverage, vision plans, 401K, commissions/incentive compensation. For more information on benefits, please refer to the benefits page.
