With over 5,800 acres of skiable terrain, a vibrant base village, and a rapidly expanding four-season offering, Big Sky Resort is in an exciting period of growth and brand evolution. We are looking for an exceptional marketing and sales leader to drive that momentum forward.

Big Sky Resort is seeking a Vice President of Marketing & Sales to serve as the senior leader responsible for shaping the resort’s brand positioning and strategic growth. Reporting directly to the Resort President, this executive will be responsible for overall marketing and group sales efforts and revenue generation under a unified and guest-focused vision for the resort.

This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned marketing leader to lead a high-performing team and drive the growth trajectory of one of America's most celebrated mountain resorts.

This position is based at Big Sky Resort in Big Sky, Montana. Occasional travel for events and meetings is expected.

Responsibilities
Brand & Marketing Strategy

Manage Big Sky Resort’s brand strategy and positioning, ensuring alignment with the vision of ownership and resort leadership

Lead marketing plan development, including strategy, channel mix, budget allocation and goal setting in alignment with resort objectives

Decelop annual and seasonal (winter/summer) content strategies, leveraging audience insights, to deliver cohesive brand messaging

Lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns across all owned and earned channels

Champion a data-driven marketing culture, leveraging analytics, attribution and research to optimize investments and drive continuous improvement

Oversee agency and vendor partnerships, managing scopes of work, budgets and performance standards

Demand Generation & Capture

Lead guest acquisition and retention strategy, including CRM, segmentation and targeting

Oversee digital initiatives through the use of web, app and ecommerce, ensuring effective and optimized customer journeys

Oversee advertising strategy including media planning with a mix of brand and performance tactics, and the multi-season creative content plan

Translate data and reporting insights into strategic recommendations for resort leadership, identifying trends, risks and opportunities in real time

Product Development & Pricing

Collaborate with divisional stakeholders to establish the resort's product and sales strategy across core lines of business - lift access, lodging, and mountain sports

Lead pricing strategy and management in partnership with resort leadership team and corporate revenue team

Monitor competitive pricing and industry trends, translating insights into actionable product and pricing guidance

Group Sales Leadership

Provide strategic direction and executive oversight for the resort’s group sales function, with a Director of Group Sales reporting to this role and directly managing the sales team

Determine the optimal mix of market segments to maximize revenue through visitation volume, occupancy and yield

Identify and develop new market opportunities, including international visitation, travel segments, and distribution channels

Team & Organizational Leadership

Lead, develop, and inspire the resort’s marketing and group sales teams, fostering a culture of creativity, performance and accountability

Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance standards across marketing and sales functions, conducting regular reviews and calibrating resources to priorities

Build organizational capability through identifying opportunities for investment, hiring and development to support the resort’s long-term growth ambitions

Work in collaboration with the Boyne corporate marketing team to leverage shared resources and guidance

Qualifications
Required

10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or executive role

Proven track record leading high-performing teams and managing multi-million dollar budgets with measurable ROI

Strong command of modern digital marketing, CRM, and revenue management disciplines

Experience in mountain resort, destination hospitality or consumer lifestyle brands strongly preferred

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presence, with the ability to represent the resort externally and influence internally

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field
